Redwater Creed Cemetary

   I have visited the Creed Cemetery outside of Redwater, TX several times. Many speculate that Elias and Annie White are indeed buried there. We located the site back in 1976 by following the Nettles Creek from the highway. My Mother's first cousin, Jim Spencer, guided our group. Again in the late eighties there was a White Family reunion in Texarkana and Glenn Thrapp of Redwater took our group in again. Later While attending a high school reunion in Shreveport my husband and I went over again. Do you remember the large tombstone marked "Ophelia Nettles"? She was Ophelia Creed, daughter of Patric and Annie White Creed. She married William LaFayette Nettles' brother Doak.

    Since this gravesite is practically in Glenn's backyard, he has put together a paper outlining those that he suspects are buried there. The Creed name comes from Charles "Patric" Creed, second husband of Susan White Harlan Creed, daughter of Elias. Their first born, Margarite, married William LaFayette Nettles (my Great Grandparents).
