Source: Roster of SC Patriots Rev War, Bobby Gilmer Moss, SC Columbia Archives.

b.  c.1740, Ireland
He served in the Rangers under Capt Eli Kershaw and Col. Thomson during 1775. From July 1780, he served one year under General Sumter before transferring to Capt. Hopkins, Maj. Thompson and Gen. Marion. He was in the battle at Fish Dam Ford. S.C.H&G.,I,120;II, 178; A.A.8435A.

NOTE:
At this time I do not know if the above Robert White is ours, the age of this Robert is
in the time period of our Robt., but for the record, am posting here.  In all probability
our Robert Sr., served in North Carolina.  Many of those records were destroyed, it
is possible, some NC troops served in SC at various times, of course the borders were
redrawn, I believe in 1772, between NC and SC.
