WILL of George Lewis - Estate - (In more detail listing Siblings)

"LEWIS, GEORGE - Will 21 March 1818. Sptg. Wills Orig. A-138 Bx-17 Pkg-8:

N-s Tennessee River, N. C. Grant. Brothers: Isaac Lewis, Abel Lewis, Isiah Lewis, all out of state. Sisters Mrs. Polly Boley and Mrs. Peggy Elison".

From: June Mann, who in person, looked at the probate records in Coosa County AL and reports the following:

1/309, 6 Jan 1840, Estate of George Lewis, petition sale; Heirs: Polly, wife of William Huey; Rachel, wife of Wiley Fowler; Margaret, wife of Allen Bishop; Elizabeth L., wife of John Barnett; John B. Lewis, Abijah Lewis. Minutes A/292 29 Jan 1839, Estate of George Lewis, Abijah Lewis, Admr

I notice on your web site that the witnesses to the signing of George Lewis' will were Elias Benson, and Mahala Bishop. This might indicate George's wife Mary was a Bishop or a Benson, since one of the wife's family ordinarily was a witness to such an important document.  There must have been a Boley connection also.  (John Boley Lewis, Ephraim's son,  and Mrs. Polly Boley, George's sister.)
