A Memory by:

Dennis Townsend

I was very fortunate as the oldest of many cousins to have grown up in a time when Gus, Charlie, and Newt White were not that old. I lived for a year in the Minton community on a farm that is now under the lake, near Gus and Granny White (Leo) and later in Maud, when Dad's farms was near Charlie' place. He caught some buddies of mine and I helping ourselves to his watermelons one night. LOL. He went easy on us. Of course Newt was always behind the cash register at The White Squirrel when I was in high school. Those were the days.

The SS-5 document is expensive, if there be a
direct descendant out there, they may want to
order the document, in genealogy it is used in
the absence of a birth record, contains the parents
and other useful information. As of 2003 the SS5
cost $27 dollars, and a birth certificate $11.00
so take your choice.  In a situation where there is
no birth record and no other way to learn of the
parents names these little applications are worth
there weight in gold.
