Susan [White] Harlan/Creed
Family Records

Susan White Harlan-Creed

She was the caretaker of the White family
while raising her own children and grieving
her own loses, she took in many relatives
over her years, cared for her father Elias in
his elderly years, took in Thomas Monroe
White, after her brother Ben and wife Polly
passed away early in life. She cared for the
Landrum family, after her sister Laura lost
her husband.  After her father passed away
she made sure his estate was equally, and
fairly distributed among the families. Not
enough can be said of this wonderful and
strong, frontier woman, who survived the
long journey from Union County SC.  She
set the example for the whole family, who
can be seen throughout time caring for the
families in times of hardship.  Her legacy
has had a lasting effect on the White family.
She lies humbly and modestly, at rest at the
Creed Cemetery near her home, in an un-
marked grave, with many of her family.

Note:
Samuel Harlan's step mother Sarah Breed was the sister
of Pricilla Breed, Susan White's father's wife Anne Gibbs
Grand Mother, making Sam's step mother a great aunt of
Anne Gibbs White, a gr-gr aunt of Susan White Harlan,
Samuel's wife. See
