Below is a Sexton Bible record excerpt, provided to us by a descendant of
Elizabeth White's, Mrs. Russell T. Sexton (Barbara Sexton).  Russell died June 16, 1997.
Many thanks to Mrs. Barbara Sexton for providing us with a copy, of this Bible record.

Mrs. Barbara Sexton writes, in a letter to me May 23, 2000:

"I enclose a copy of the page from the Bible that was in a Sexton Bible.  The person who tore them out didn't know they should save the fly page.  I note that some of the given names you are descended from are the same as some of the Sexton given names.  However, Russell T. Sexton, is descended from Robert White's daughter, Elizabeth who married Salomon Bobo Jr."
Barbara's connection:
Elizabeth White Bobo > Sarah Ann Elizabeth [Bobo] Bailey
                                     married: Wesley T Sexton > Charles W Sexton > Russell T Sexton
                                     for which Barbara is married.

Notes from Mike:

The 1827 Deed above for Solomon Sr, is behond a doubt his...

The others are probably his son Jr., Elizabeth White Bobo, his wife,
died in 1845, so is not involved in the deeds, Solomon Jr., died on
24 May 1851, all the deeds were made before this time.

The problem is another Solomon Bobo, son to Kindred Bobo Sr.,
born 1799, died 1869 Union Co SC.

However, a look at the census records clearly indicates all of the families
mentioned in the above deeds were neighbors of Solomon Sr. & Jr. I am
confident these land records belong to our Solomon's.

William W. Bobo

Song in 'Sacred Harp' & 'Christian Harmony'

"Long Sought Home" by Wm Bobo

Story by 'Sacred Harp Researcher', Robert Vaughn

"William Bobo composed at least one song - 'Long Sought Home'.
This song, as far as I can tell, first appeared on page 302 in William
Walker's 2nd Edition of "The Southern Harmony" in 1847.  It later
appeared in other books - Walker's "Christian Harmony", p. 159
(probably in 1866), "The Scred Harp in J. S. James Edition, p.253a
(1911), "The Sacred Harp" (Denson Edition), p. 235 (1936), and "The
Sacred Harp" (Cooper Edition), p. 343 (1992)".

"I knew that William Bobo wrote the song, but hadn't made the
connection that he was THAT William Bobo. Then this past weekend
I bought a CD entitled "Religion is a Fortune", which has "Long
Sought Home" on it. In the liner notes, Dr. Warren Steel of
Mississippi St. Univ. mentions that he was B. F. White's nephew."

The Family expresses its gratitude
to Mr Vaughn for sharing his research
on 'William Bobo'.
